It’s late at night and I should be heading to bed, but I also need to get an article up.

I was playtesting the scenario building system I’m working on for Nefertiti Overdrive, and the scenario we ended up with was pretty interesting. The inspiration chosen was the steampunk genre and UFC. Huh. Then we get Europe and an archipelago as setting. All these crazy choices that I would have never made left to my own decision, but in the end, the mashup turned into something really cool.
Basically, the setting is a flooded, steampunk world and the characters are in an England in which the prize ring has become the most popular entertainment. There is a plague going on which may be the cause of the monsters that war against each other – or are they supernatural in origin?
It looks like this is going to be a lot of fun. Games like Spark and Microscope, in which building the world is part of the game inspired me to do this with Nefertiti Overdrive, and this one test has led me to believe this is a road I need to travel down.
So there’s that in my future.
