Still Digging Myself Deeper

I’ve been off my game for a while. I was travelling on business for a week, and then I’ve been involved in looking through the edits for Centurion: Legionaries of Rome. My first week of writing, the week starting with 9 June, I wrote 3,774 words. The next week – starting with 16 June – I wrote 1,170. I haven’t really written anything since. That’s not good.

This weekend I’m off on a camping trip (it is the summer, you know), so I expect to take another hit. There’s an accumulated deficit that I’m going to have to face up to later in the summer, but it’s nothing I can’t dig my way out of with a few good weeks. Listen, along with a novel in progress, I should get some more short stories completed. I’ve also got an adventure and game to write for Gen Con. That means July should be productive . . . it needs to be productive.

And once this summer is done, there’s lots of writing to be done, as I move forward following the successful (oh, it’ll be successful all right; don’t you worry) delivery of Centurion with whatever new project I undertake.

Yes, I’ve dug myself a deep trench, but I’m turning that into a moat and then building a castle.

At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
